CANVASSING WITH OUR NORTH PENN SCHOOL BOARD 2023 CANDIDATES

April 22, 2023. We had a great day of canvassing for the North Penn Neighbors For Progress team.  We want that everyone who came out join us. We especially want to thank our special guests who came to support our Democratic School Board team, County Commissioner candidates Jamila Winder, Noah Marlier, Neil Makhija, and Kim Koch; Register of Wills candidates Hilary Fuelleborn and Tina Lawson; and Towamencin Supervisor candidate Kofi Osei.

Special thanks go to Montgomery Township Auditor candidate Eric Pelletier and his wife Heather for hosting our event and Juliane Ramic and Tim MacBain for organizing assistance.

Tanya Bamford announces run for county commissioner

January 16, 2023. Because of County Commissioner Val Arkoosh’s elevation to the Secretary of Human Services in the new Shapiro administration, there is now a vacancy on the County Commissioner’s Board. This vacancy must be filled by January 30th. Montgomery Township Supervisor Tanya Bamford will be applying to finish out Val’s term; and then, she will be running for one of the two seats in 2023. The other seat is being vacated by Ken Lawrence at the end of his term. We need your help to keep the County Board of Commissioners in Democratic hands. One of the Selection Committee's criteria for consideration to finish out Val’s term is fundraising ability. Please consider donating to Tanya’s campaign for Commissioner ASAP!

UPCOMING JANUARY COMMITTEE MEETING

All Politics are Local. This month, we will have a number of candidates joining us including County Commissioner, Register of Wills and a number of Judicial candidates. Join via Zoom.

It's A Great Day to Be A Democrat in PA

November 9, 2022. While the dust settles from yesterday's election, we wanted to take a few moments to thank you, our volunteers and voters. Without you and your hard work, yesterday's victories simply would not have happened. You all created a Blue November, fending off challenges to our democracy from insurrectionists like Doug Mastriano and just clueless candidates like New Jerseyan Mehmet Oz.

  • A special note of thanks to our Judges of Election, Inspectors, Poll Watchers and other volunteers that took the day off to work inside our polling locations. Your work ensures that our elections continue to be free and fair. Our very democracy hinges on the work that you do.

We also appreciate the hard work of our committee members and volunteers who staffed the polls outside yesterday to make sure our voters had clear guidance about who was running and helping the them navigate their polling locations. Thank you for organizing the meet and greets, door knocking, phone calls and texting campaigns that got our voters to the polls.

In January 2023, Josh Shapiro and Austin Davis will be sworn in as our next Governor and Lt. Governor.

Madeleine Dean will return to Congress for her fourth term in the US House of Representatives in January.

In December, Rep. Steve Malagari and Sen. Maria Collett will be sworn in to the State Legislature for their new terms. Representative Malagari will be returning for his third term while Senator Collett will be returning for her second term in office.

Ballot counting continues in the race for the 151st House District; this about as close as a race gets. As of this morning Melissa Cerrato was only 26 votes behind Todd Stephens. There are still a number of ballots left across the County to be counted including 4,331 mail-in ballots; an unknown number of provisional ballots; 329 military ballots; and additional ballots missing dates or have other problems that need to be cured. The battle continues and we will keep you updated as we get more information.

And we've just received word that the most recent estimate is that Democrats have flipped the PA House from red to blue for the first time since 2010!!! If these numbers hold, this also will put a pin in Republicans' plans to put an abortion amendment on the ballot next May.

Join us in celebrating Blue November!

Recycle Your Election Signs Now

Plastic campaign signs and metal stands are not accepted as part of curbside recycling. Instead of putting yard signs in the trash, residents can recycle their campaign signs at the Montgomery Township Administration Building (1001 Stump Rd) between November 9th and November 15th. An area is designated with orange snow-fence for campaign yard signs and stakes. To get to it, drive straight down the row closest to the gazebo until you see the fencing. For more information including other locations contact: Montgomery County Recycling 610-278-3618 or recycling@montcopa.
